HF Radio Skeds by Kordia
Our HF radio skeds and 24 hour monitoring will be handled this year by Kordia Maritime Safety Communications Services. This means the operator is located in Canberra and utilizes their Charleville transceiver. QCYC Radio will still monitor the race frequencies on a 24hr basis for the duration of the race and South Passage will back up as radio relay vessel.

Entries to date are ahead of previous years and 50 have entered or registered their intention to enter with 4 weeks to Start Date.
Truck to Gladstone
Road transport for personal and boat gear not required during the race will again be available this year.
An enclosed truck will be available at QCYC from 1200hrs Wednesday 31st March through to departure for Gladstone at 0900hrs Friday 2nd March. All gear will be available from the VMR Gladstone building.
Yacht Tracking.
TracerTrak is again sponsoring the yacht tracking website with the assistance of ESRI Australia. A tracking device will be issued to each yacht at the Briefing on Wednesday 31st March 2010. These units have their own power supply.
Safety Update.
EPIRBhire.com.au is offering a great service for the hire of EPIRBs and PLBs. An important component of their service is the Registration of the device to the crew person, the event and yacht in which the person is competing and they forward this information to QCYC and AMSA in Canberra. Gemini Inflatables on board
Global Force Marine and Wynnum Marine have combined to support the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race by supplying a special Limited Edition Gemini 2.45mtr Air Deck inflatable. One entrant in the 2010 race will be the proud owner of this colourful inflatable valued at $1900.00 following the lucky draw of a yacht name at the Briefing on Wednesday 31st March at QCYC. Mike Orsmond, Director – Operations of Global Force Marine assisted by Laurie Hood of Wynnum Marine said “they were proud to be associated with an event such as the 62nd Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.”
Along with the race prize they are supporting the junior sailing of QCYC by supplying a 2mtr inflatable.

Information for Gladstone Marina
Please ensure the dimension details of your yacht on the Gladstone Marina Mooring Permit Application are accurate. For example, the LOA is deemed to include any Bowsprits, Davits and Dinghy or any other protrusions external to the hull.
IRC Certificates.
We have been advised that to have your IRC Certificate by the closing date for documents, 24th March 2010, you will have to allow 5 days prior to allow for processing in the UK.
